Fontainebleau High senior Adam Wise collected his first individual state cross country title in fast fashion.

Tuesday, during the final day of the Louisiana cross country championships at Northwestern State in Natchitoches, Wise clocked 15 minutes, 20.5 seconds on the 3-mile course to claim the 5A crown. It was the fastest time of the two-day meet. The Catholic High boys team won the 5A team crown with 77 points, the Bears' first state title since 2011. It is Catholic's 17th title in program history under coach Pete Boudreaux. Catholic placed all five runners in the top 25.

"We ran a dynamite race,” Boudreaux told theadvocate.com. “We didn’t want them to panic in the first mile, but they also knew they had to keep moving after that. We knew the only shot we had was to get everyone packed in tight. That was the difference in the race.”

In 5A girls, Lauren Hendry led St. Joseph's Academy to a second straight team championship, crossing the line in first place in 18:19.7.

In 4A boys action, Key Alfred of Carencro clocked 15:46.3 to win the individual title, while Belle Chasse placed four in the top 10 to win with 42 points.

The girls 4A title was won by Molly McHale of St. Scholastica in 18:27.4. St. Michael won the team title.

The West Feliciana boys scored 52 points, placing four runners in the top 10 to edge out Erath (59) for the 3A crown. Sophomore Jack Moran of University Lab won the individual title in 16:36.9.

Academy of the Sacred Heart's Mary Nusloch ran 18:47.8 to lead her team to a 3A state title.

Episcopal's Graham Frazier clocked 15:42.1 to win the 2A title as the team scored 21 points, nabbing the first three spots to secure the team championship.

The girls 2A title went to Holy Savior Menard as sophomore Claire Vaughn ran 18:49.7 to win. Holy Savior had all five runners in the top seven.

In Class 1A, the St. Martin's girls and boys swept the team championships. Senior Gabe Poulin  of Cedar Creek claimed the boys individual crown in 15:53.2. Seventh-grader Emma Bourg of Covenant Christian impressed with a time of 19:53.1 to win.

The Class B team championships went to Episcopal Of Acadiana for both the boys and girls. Hornbeck freshman John Jett won the B crown in 16:20.6, with Episcopal's Samantha Withers clocking 19:29.5 for the win.

In Class C boys, Cody Baugus 17:10 win led Georgetown to a title with 57 to barely beat out Jehovah-Jireh (61 points). Georgetown had three runners in the top 13.
